The San Dieguito Art Guild to host its 10th annual Holiday Bazaar

San Dieguito Art Guild presents its 10th Annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, December 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive (corner of Encinitas Blvd and Balour), Encinitas.

The San Dieguito Art Guild is a non-profit, 200-member, all-volunteer organization that operates the Off Track Gallery located in the Lumberyard Mall in Encinitas.

Led by a board of 15 elected directors, the SDAG was organized in 1965 by a group of artists with the aim of promoting a greater understanding and appreciation of the fine arts.

Karen Fidel, one of the event organizers, said: “This event provides a place for local artists to offer their handmade items to the public. And gives shoppers a chance to purchase unique works of art, which cannot be found in shopping malls. There are no imported items in this bazaar. In addition, the buyer buys works directly from the artist and can meet them face to face.

Guild President Judianne Shannon said, “Even though you’ve been to our Holiday Bazaar, there are new artists and new items to see. We try to have a balanced mix of mediums, so you will find photographers, watercolor artists, oil and acrylic painters as well as multimedia artists.

There will be a silent auction of works of art donated by participating artists. Jewelry Artist Cheryl DeLain says, “Our artwork is special because it comes from all local artists and often local stages. Our bazaar has some really great deals on silent auction items whose proceeds help support our Off Track gallery.

Come and enjoy delicious treats, a silent auction and works of art for sale by artists: paintings, jewelry, photographs, glass, ceramics, mosaics, fiber art, maps, prints and more.

Entrance to the bazaar and ample parking are free. For more information, visit, call 760-942-3636 or contact [email protected]
